Trespass of Lovers

My darling Shannon has graced us with a treatise on developing her femme identity:

Femme is a protective shield. Feminine construction both denotes, and strangely masks, vulnerability. It accommodates a bruised spirit or delicate soul. People don’t tend to question war paint. They don’t attack poise. It is a protective bouncer at the door of her heart. Femme is knowing when she is safe, and with whom her shell-less self is held. The trespass of lovers marks the height of their erotic connection, encroaching upon her vulnerability without sacrificing strength.
